Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of ruining my interview tape with verbal nodding.

Just kidding. I actually dreamed of being on American Idol and getting plucked from suburban Massachusetts to star in a Taylor Swift music video.

Today, I dream of steady employment as (don’t say it) a storyteller (yuck!) .

The privilege to spend my days talking to anyone and learning about anything is something I do not take for granted. It is my favorite part of being a journalist.

I am driven by curiosity and a desire to help create a more just world — and in the process, to help people understand this one a bit better.
